Due to an increase in demand, we will need to be more stringent in approving donations, which may increase delays in our response and reduce the number of approvals. We regret that we must still keep a maximum level of help to £300.
HOW WE CAN HELP?
- We can offer essential items to a person in need living in Bromley Borough.
- All requests should be sent from professional third party sponsors such as social workers, healthcare professionals, religious leaders or another charity.
- Our funds are very limited so we must ensure that recipients are the most deserving. Referrers must explain why their client's needs are greater than any other person with limited financial resources.
- Referrers will be responsible for ensuring that the item is used as intended.
Please see our examples below to see the type of applications that we are likely to approve. When you are ready to make the referral then please click on the 'Application Form' link below and complete the form and send a brief email to [email protected]
For white goods and beds, please first apply to the Bromley Welfare Fund , if eligible and only apply to us if rejected. If children are involved, Bromley Brighter Beginnings can often help. Please note that requests for fitted carpets are unlikely to be approved and that referrers should consider offcuts from stores like Priceless Carpets in Downham. Similarly, consideration should be given to charity shops like British Heart Foundation, St Christopher's Hospice for furniture and bedding. This type of application is more likely to be approved by the Trustees as funds are limited to those in desperate need.
The Trustees meet as needed to consider applications. If your application is urgent, please make a comment on the form so that it may be considered quicker.
